Have you ever thought you just were not going to make it or that life is not fair? Have you ever said to yourself, (of course you wouldn’t say it out loud) that your strength is waning, that your memory has gone somewhere? I wonder if you might have said there isn’t enough money to go around, the kids are a mess, disobedience seems to be a way of life? Have I got good news for you!
There is a little verse of scripture I like very much, (Eph. 6:17) it goes like this, receive the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God. The Greek word for word in the text is rhemata. Rhemata means the spoken word of God. Let me remind you, Jesus in the temptation (Matt. 4:1-11) used the word of God on the devil. He spoke His Father’s word in three different temptations. Finally the devil left Him. It says of Jesus that He returned in the power of the Holy Spirit.
So you see the word of God needs to be stored up in your heart and when temptation comes or the storms of life rage around you, then you will be like Jesus, from your lips will come a great sword, the word of God. May I remind you Jesus our Lord forged the weapon, the word of God in the presence of His Almighty Father. Jesus proved the weapon in battle against the evil one, our enemy. The word of God you have stored in your heart will come forth from you as a two edged sword. Revelations 12:11 says we overcome by the word of the testimony of God issuing from our mouth. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a re-warder of them that diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6) If we know the love of God we will not have a problem believing God for our healing, our finances or our loved ones because He loves us and is aware of our needs even before we ask Him. So when I come to the Lord I must believe that He is and that He is a re-warder of those who seek Him.
First of all do you believe that He is - do you believe God is? In the fourth chapter of Revelation, the angels around the throne said Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, which was and is and is to come. The word “is” has reference to today. Do you believe He is actively involved in your affairs, in your cares or concerns, in your family, and in our nation? That you believe He is; is important. Do you believe He is?
Second, we are to believe He is a re-warder of those who seek Him. l John 5:14,15 says if we know He hears us, we know we have what we ask. When we pray, we must believe that God will reward those who seek Him in prayer. If we don’t believe that, we may as well forget about praying. You might say, “but Pastor Danny, what do I do when I have a hard time believing God”? and my response would be, turn to the Word of God. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” God has provided a way for our faith to be built up and to become strong. As we read the Word of God we will learn about Jesus, the apostles and great men of faith. Our faith will grow. In Romans 10:8, Paul calls his preaching the word of faith, so then it is important to hear the preaching of the Word. In Proverbs 4:21 scripture says to keep the Word in the midst of your heart. In our terms we would say meditate or think on the Word of God for it is life and health to all our flesh.
Reading the Word, hearing the Word and meditating on the Word, will change the way you think, the way you talk and the way you believe.

“Our redeemer was in the Garden of Gethsemane. His hour was come. He felt as if he would be strengthened somewhat if He had two or three disciples with Him. His three chosen disciples were within a stone’s cast of the scene of His agony; but they were all asleep that the scripture might be fulfilled – ‘I have trodden the winepress alone, and of the people - there was none with me’. (Isaiah 63:3) ” Alexander Whyte
“Man ought always to pray and not to faint.” Jesus encouraged His disciples. Again, regarding prayer, He said, “shall not God avenge His own elect, who cry day and night unto Him…” (Luke 18:7). Isaiah, a prophet of old, lamented that there was no one who would stir himself up to take hold of God. (Isaiah 64:7) Jesus through scripture challenges us again not to faint in prayer.
The most dynamic revelation of God to the world – the ministry of Jesus – came through prayer. His ministry was filled with prayer and His dispensation overflowed with fullness in proportion to those prayers. The possibility of prayer is unlimited and so is ours, as we give ourselves to prayer.
The church of today has been given the largest, most dynamic, most unlimited call to prayer. The Holy Spirit will take all our human weaknesses and frailties and transform us into praying people who hear and know God’s heartbeat. E.M. Bounds once said, “A breed of Christian is greatly needed who will seek tirelessly after God – who will give Him no rest, day and night, until He hearkens to their cry. The times demand praying men who are athirst for God’s glory, who are broad and unselfish in their desires, quenchless for God, who seek Him late and early, who will give themselves no rest until the whole earth is filled with His Glory.”
“Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, Ask of Me things to come concerning My sons, and concerning the work of My hands, command ye Me.” (Isaiah 45:11) God has placed His work in our hands and told us to pray. The responsibility no longer rests solely on the pastor, evangelist or the prophet. the responsibility for prayer rests on the entire church.
Men and women are needed who will continue to pray and seek God until His power is poured out and the earth is filled with the Glory of the Lord. Jesus was transfigured on a mountain while praying with His disciples. His face shone like the sun and His clothing was as white as light. Undoubtedly, the transforming power of prayer will be discovered by those who discipline themselves to pray.

“And the Word came in the flesh, and lived for a time in our midst, so that we saw His glory – the glory as of the Father’s only son, sent from His presence. He was full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14 Weymouth)
“He was full of grace and truth”, those words ring in my ears. Consider the word “grace”. To some grace only means mercy or unmerited favor, however, Zechariah in the Old Testament prophesied saying, “you shall put the crowning touch to the temple by shouting grace, grace unto it.” (Zechariah 4;7) Can you imagine Paul writing to the churches saying “unmerited favor and peace to you, you unworthy bunch”? I don’t think Paul was always reminding them of how unworthy they were, he was saying, the Spirit of the Lord is within you. Paul was saying that beauty would only be worked in our lives by the spirit of God and the Grace of God.
“He was full of grace and truth”. It was that grace or charis or power that caused blind eyes to see, prison doors to open, the sick to be healed and evil spirits to be cast out. Jesus was full of grace and it was that grace which raised Him from the dead and placed Him at the right hand of the Father!
The word grace seems to carry with it the nature, mercy and power of God, which is the very Spirit of God. When we shout, “Grace” we thank God for His mercy, for we stand in His favor, with His nature and life pregnant within us proclaiming the power of God. Brother and Sister, it will level mountains, it will bring the touch of God’s hand to your life and as well as this lost and dying world. Cry Grace unto it!!!
Hallelujah!

Water is a precious commodity, without it things dry up and life gets pretty precarious. One of Israel’s principle water supplies was the siloah or sender which is the Hebrew meaning. Siloah fed what was called in Jesus’ day, the pool of Siloam. Siloam is a very important part of the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles. It was there that they drew water on the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles. Every year in celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles water would be drawn and poured out before the Lord. We see Jesus in the seventh chapter of John on the last day of the feast as they were pouring out the water. Jesus said,” if any one thirst let him come to Me and drink, he who believes in Me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38)
Upon His departure from the world scene Jesus declared, I must go back to the Father and I will send the Holy Spirit. (v:39) The Holy Spirit was not yet given and as scripture has said, He will be the water for which you have thirsted all your life. Jesus in speaking to the woman at the well in John 4:13-14 said whoever drinks of this water that I shall give will never thirst again. It will become a fountain of living water, springing up with everlasting life. Loved ones, let’s drink deeply from the wells of salvation.
Today He is the Word of God made flesh so we come to the Word of God and we receive from Jesus Christ the Pure Water of Life – Living Water. Once again, let’s open our hearts to the life of Jesus and drink from the wells of salvation. With joy therefore, shall we draw water from the wells of salvation. (Isaiah 12:3) Read it and RE-JOY-CE!
