Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away.  You give them something to eat.”  The disciples said we have here only five loaves and these two fish.  Jesus said bring them to me”.  They did as he said and Jesus worked a miracle through their little lunch (Matthew 14:13-21).  When we give what we have to Jesus, whether it be food, ability, skills, even money or blessing people, He is able to make it go as far as it needs to go and also, to have some left over.

Take heart, the next time you feel impressed to give, whatever it may be, first give it to Jesus.  What you have may seem so small, yet, He is able to make it grow and enlarge.  Since He did it then, you can bank on His faithfulness to do something equally miraculous today.

Last of all, He never asks you to give so that you may experience lack.  He asks us to give so that we may see a miracle.  He wants us to grow in obedience and every time you give or obey it will become easier.  He loves you and He wants only His best for you. Sometimes I ask myself; Danny, what do you want, His best for your life or your best? The answer comes back very clearly.  Your best, Lord, is what I want; my best is not good enough.  The implication is that the little lad gave all his lunch and it fed not only the multitudes, but also, it fed the young man who gave his lunch. (The scripture says that there were twelve baskets full of food that remained after they were fed). Some people do not like leftovers, but I do- lots of leftovers.
